You never know what you can do,  till you do it...It applies to everything. I never knew that I could be a little creative till I came to US. Sometimes boredom  makes you creative. I realized it with jewelry designing.I never knew that I could do such a thing till I actually did it. I always knew that I liked  wearing such beautiful things but to make them myself?? No, never gave a thought about it.  It all started  with a friend of  mine who attended cake decorating classes, it was from her that I came to know that there are places like "michaels" which provide classes in crafts and arts at a hobby level. When I went through there website, I saw that they did  teach a lot of things, they had 'cake decorating,' sounded familiar after seeing my friend's work. 'Painting', hmm, I knew I wasn't  good at it, given my experience on diagrams for my biology records. 'Paper crafting.'.. naaaa(no offense but i dint like it) . 'Knitting and Crochet work', my sister's do it.. I like the craft but not something I can do.. it needs a lots of time and patience. There was something about 'birthday parties,' since I come from a family where birthday parties are not a traditional event , I gave it a pass. And then I came across "jewelry making",  now that's something interesting!! when I went through it I actually came to know that there are so many things about it which I never knew. My first impression was "cool, I can make my own jewelry and I don't have to buy it anymore". I joined the classes and started learning, I had a wonderful teacher Ms Cindy Pavelka Callahan, who, out of interest, taught herself and also has a part-time handmade jewelry business. She was always interested in our Indian crafts and jewelry. I learnt a lot from her. I like the craft, because it makes me think creatively and each day gives me a new idea .This has   turned out to be something which I have never done before and I enjoy doing it.

P.S : i have posted some my designs below.

Getting emotional

It happens so often with me,  but never realised all this while when i was trying to write, that this is  not just about a feeling. It can also be shared with all. they say women are more emotional than  most men, or may be men don't reveal their emotions. How can someone not be emotional?... Its a human tendency.

I sometimes get emotional after talking to my parents. It reminds me of the time i spent with them. I get tears in my eyes when i watch a sentimental movie. For sometime it feels so real, a little later I realise that its just a film, but a 'heart touching' film. Even a song can make me emotional. Any part of it, could be the lyrics, tune of the song, or the way it was sung. Happy incidents like being surprised by your loved ones makes me feel good and reminds me of how much they mean to me.

Everybody have their share of emotional moments, some which are worth remembering and leaves us with happy tears. Its nice to get emotional sometimes because it shows how much you care about a person. But let only the happier times be remembered as being strong is also as important as getting emotional.

A SPECIAL EVENING

It was a different evening. For a change, clouds and cool breeze made me sit in my veranda and enjoy a cup of chai...and  look outside  for a while, closely into  my "every evening" ... i see people, some coming home back to their loved one's, smiling, happy to be back home!! how often do 'we' notice that?? hardly!! and why??  cos we are so busy with our daily life that  we hardly make time for it!!

So, how can we feel  a day  "different"?? may be by giving some time for yourself!! Take some time out of your day and  mind and just look around for those simple things that can make you feel different and happy.

While I was enjoying this moment, I saw my lovely husband coming back to  home and that has made  'my' evening a little more different and special!!
